• September 2005 - July 2006: Union Organizer, UNITE HERE, Rochester Regional Joint Board. Helped workers form unions in the hotel, gaming & racing, industrial laundry, and food service industries across New York State.

• March 2005 - May 2005: Talk Show Host, The Jason Crane Show, NewsTalk 950 WROC (Rochester, NY). Produced and hosted a weekly progressive interview show on politics, science and the arts.

• February 2002 – November 2004: Station Manager, Afternoon Drive-Time Host at Jazz90.1 (WGMC) in Rochester, NY, the nation’s No. 54 market. Managed 30+ paid and volunteer staff members, oversaw fundraising, programming, public relations, educational outreach. Supervised Music Director, Traffic Director, Production Manager, Office Manager. Produced and hosted afternoon drive programming, including music selection, more than 200 live interviews, contests, and giveaways.

• September 2001 – November 2001: Operations Producer, WXXI AM 1370. Scheduled and recorded feeds, produced daily call-in show, operated board, wrote promo copy, wrote and produced weekend interview show, served as fill-in on-air host, pitched during on-air pledge drives.

Previous Civic Activity

• February 2005 - December 2006: Panel Member, Readers’ Advisory Panel on the Environment, The Democrat & Chronicle newspaper.

• September 2006 - September 2007: Committee Leader, 24th Legislative District Committee of the Monroe County Democratic Party. (Member since December 2005.)

• October 2005 - October 2007: Board Member, Abundance Cooperative Market. Oversee the policies, practices and operations of Rochester’s only shareholder-owned natural food store. Elected by co-op members to three-year term.

• August 2003 - October 2006: Announcer, Silver Base Ball Park League. Serve as volunteer announcer for one of the country’s premier vintage base ball leagues, based at Genesee Country Village & Museum in Mumford, NY.

• June 2003 - November 2003: Candidate, Rochester City Council. Ran an independent campaign for City Council on the Green Party line. First challenge to incumbent in 16 years. Received more than 30% of the vote in many districts — a record for a third-party candidate for City Council.

• January 2002 - January 2004: Chairperson, Green Party of Monroe County. Recruited new voters; managed campaigns for local and state candidates; oversaw fundraising; helped design tactics and vision for party; represented local party at state level. All of the above tasks were performed with the help of many volunteers.
