POEM: barefoot

barefoot

wood and steel

slashing
        sawing
slashing
        sawing

no shoes
no socks
        bare feet
on the paving stones

voice        building
                 looping
                 repeating

guts heart muscles exposed

soul pouring out
through the
sound hole

air buzzing        buzzing

sound pouring
like hard rain
soaking the crowd

running off the pebbled hill
like the river at high water

spent

gasping

fully revealed
