Common-place is an online history magazine put out by the American Antiquarian Society and Florida State University. I find it consistently interesting and always worth reading. In this issue, I was struck by the article “Walking The Freedom Trail,” in which a historian and a group of American soldiers tour Boston with an eye toward improving counter-insurgency operations in Iraq by taking a lesson from the failed decisions made by the British during the Revolutionary War.
