POEM: A Love Poem (November Poem-A-Day 10)

Poem #10 for the November Poem-A-Day challenge. Today’s prompt was to write a love poem.

A Love Poem

John came
                     down
                               the
                                     stairs

SMILING

holding A Love Supreme

Alice knew
it was a day
unlike other days

  1. Jason, loved your poem because I love Trane. My first husband, still a friend, is a tenor man and I’m an old singer/songwriter and veteran of the jazz and blues scene, both as a singer and pianist.

A Love Supreme was played in our house like some people run NPR! Also Miles Ahead and a shitload of Billie Holiday and Etta James…

In a handful of words, you conveyed how a single song can turn the universe on its ear. Congrats.

    • Thanks so much, Amy. That’s very kind of you.
